The program helps all students develop a desire to become lifelong learners and responsible citizens.
Vision Statement
All students experience social, emotional, and academic growth while leading healthy and successful lives amid challenges and high expectations of the 21st century. They strive to do their best for others, their community, and themselves through the remainder of their academic careers and beyond.
As a professional School Counselor, I believe:
- All students should have access to a comprehensive and developmental school counseling program.
- The program should meet the needs of the students and school as a whole, as identified through achievement, perception, and results data.
- All students have the ability to learn and achieve with the proper supports in place, and deserve equal opportunities to experience school success.
- A collaborative effort among school counselors, administration and teachers, parents, and the community is essential in creating a supportive and caring educational environment that promotes success for all students.
- The school counseling program should be comprehensive and holistic, addressing the school’s needs and promoting system wide change to provide academic, career, and personal/social development for every student.
- The school counselor is an advocate for every student and is guided by ethical standards designed for the school counseling profession.
- Students deserve to learn in a safe, consistent, encouraging, and healthy environment that reduces barriers to learning.
- Learning is a lifelong process.
